My name is Shawn, and I’m a live music photographer based near Crown Point, Indiana, covering metal, hardcore, punk, and underground shows throughout Chicago, Northwest Indiana, and the surrounding Midwest.

I’ve been part of the metal scene my whole life, and that’s how I approach shooting shows. I work from inside the pit and along the edge of the stage, focused on capturing performances as they actually happen — the chaos, the sweat, the aggression, and the moments that only exist live. No staged shots. No posing. No bullshit.

I put a strong focus on local and underground bands, because that’s where scenes are built and where shows are still raw and unpredictable. At the same time, I’ve shot larger touring acts like Mushroomhead, Dying Fetus, Jackyl, and E'nuff Z'nuff — giving me experience across every level of live production.

From basement shows lit by a single drop light to venues holding over a thousand people, the approach stays the same: show up prepared, stay out of the way, and document the show honestly. I don’t fuck around, I don’t slow things down, and fast turnaround is standard — not an add-on.
